Storyline

                 Mohammad Sher Khan is a Pathan who has re-located to India from Afghanistan and befriends Phagwara-born Veer Singh. Both are quite naive, they steal a truck from a businessman who has 20 such trucks, get into a fight, are arrested, and jailed. They are let out for good behavior, go to live in Chaurasiya Chawl, and lease a truck for a living. There they become popular when they oust the local goon Jaggu Dada. Then a Catholic Anglo-Indian, Rosy, comes to live there. Both friends mock and make fun of her, but then all three become fast friends. When Rosy falls ill, both come to her rescue and ensure that she recovers. They find out that she is the nanny of a wealthy young woman named Rita Roy, and they also find out that Rita has fallen in love with wealthy Ravi Lala, both want to get married but Ravi's dad wants a huge dowry. Sher Khan and Veer Singh come up with a scheme to get the young lovers gets married - but the scheme has many flaws: it does not involve Rosy at all

Storyline

    Geeta Malhotra (Shabana Azmi) gets married to a young man, Bhupinder (Farooq Shaikh) her mom (Rohini Hattangadi) and dad do not approve of. They are happy together and she soon expects a baby. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes and she loses her child. She is devastated and severely depressed about this loss. One day while travelling by the city bus service, she comes upon a small boy left behind inadvertently by his family, and she takes him home and treats like her own son. Her husband, though knowing that this is wrong, goes along with her, as this seems to help her situation. Eventually, the police and the boy's family catch her with Geeta and she is arrested and stands trial for abduction. The Court can come to either one decision: Incareration or confinement to an mental asylum. Which is it going to be for Geeta?

Storyline

    Thakur is a wealthy, principled, and punctual man, who will not tolerate anything, even music in his palatial home. Thakur's only motto in life is money, and each and every second is spent on making and earning money. His elder son, Amar Kumar rebels against this, and is warned. But Amar does not heed this warning, and falls in love with a poor gypsy girl, Jyoti, and both elope in order to escape the wrath of his dad. Thakur second son, Pawan Kumar, is sent away abroad so that there are no lingering bad influences on his life. Years later, Pawan returns home, and is the exact cold-hearted and arrogant image as his dad. Amar and his wife give birth to a son, and Amar writes to his dad to forgive him. Shortly thereafter the couple pass away, leaving their son, with Jyoti's sister, Dilruba. Thakur decides to forgive his late son and asks Pawan to go and bring his grandson home. Pawan sets forth to get his nephew, with the help of MGM, and meets a host of less-than-fortunate people.

Storyline

        Touching on the concepts of slavery and domestic dominance. Jaisingh Jadav buys a slave, Kamla (Deepti Nawal), and brings her home to a press conference where he wants to use her to prove the flesh trade still exists. His wife (Shabana Azmi looking very young and peppy!) is horrified by this and wants to take care of Kamla. Her uncle, Kakasaab, is sympathetic to both sides, but mostly wishes to protect his niece from Jaisingh's domination. Watch it yourself to see how the story unfolds, or read Vijay Tendulkar's play by the same name. The date of the movie really shows through in funny filming (neon flashing title, scribbled-in blobs that disguise the name of the building in which much of the filming was done, the ending) and the ending is remarkably abrupt and very very late-1970s (which I suppose hit India in the mid-80s).

Storyline

        Renowned Indian astrologer Jyotibhaskar Pandit Satyanarayan Chaturvedi, wishes a doctor, who is about to perform surgery on a woman, good luck, but also tells him that his patient is going to die. The doctor scoffs at this, and proceeds to the operation theatre. The patient dies, and the doctor is humbled before the astrologer. The astrologer lives with his wife, Devki, and an only son, Nandu. Nandu is of marriageable age, and he would like to see him get married to a woman named Indu Agnihotri. But Nandu loves another woman by the name of Sushma Chatopadhya and is determined to marry her. And then his father tells him that he is fated to have two wives in this lifetime - the first will die within eleven months of the marriage - and that's when he will re-marry. Modern-day educated Nandu must now decide to believe his father and let go of Sushma, or defy his astrological beliefs and marry her.

Storyline

   Sethji is a widowed, a businessman and lives a comfortable life with his only daughter, Hansa, his son-in-law, Rahul, and a grandson, Munna. He has Rahul as his right-hand man, and a nephew named Dinesh who also assists in running the business. Petty rivalries and jealousies have grown in the family, and Sethji and Rahul feel that Dinesh is now trying to undermine the business. They would like to get rid of him, without attracting any attention to themselves. They do terminate Dinesh, but this affects Sethji's health, and he dies. Shortly thereafter, Hansa also dies, leaving Rahul to look after the business on his own. But there are many questions unanswered, like why was no one in attendance with the ailing Sethji; Hansa's death was a suicide, why was it covered up?; what of the affair that Rahul is having with Janki, their maidservant, who is full of venom against the family; and the involvement of Anita, Rahul's secretary, in his personal life.

Storyline

           Devastated to learn that their only child, a son, has been killed by muggers in New York City, former Headmaster B.B. Pradhan and his wife, Parvati, grieve. With their son dead, there is no income coming in, so they rent out a room, in their Shivaji Park (Bombay) apartment to a budding Bollywood actress, Sujata Suman, who has been having an illicit affair with the only son (Vilas) of a politician named Gajanan Chitre. Vilas lacks the guts to tell his father that he is in love and would like to marry Sujata, and hence puts off any marriage plans. They do get intimate and as a result Sujata gets pregnant. When Pradhan finds out, he offers to take Sujata to meet Gajanan with the hope that he will permit her to become his daughter-in-law. But Gajanan not only refuses, he also threatens them, he warns them of dire consequences if Sujata does not abort the child, and moves away to another town.

Storyline

            Ramdas, his wife, Savitri, son, Prakash, and daughter, Sunita, live a lower middle-class existence in Bombay. They would like to get Sunita get married, and soon receive a proposal through Champabai for her to be married to Prem Kumar Saxena. They find the proposal suitable and Sunita gets married to Prem, and moves into his house. Prem lives with his possessive mother, Kantadevi; his elder crippled brother, Surender; and a younger unmarried brother, Bittoo, who is having an affair with their maid-servant, Lily D'Souza. Sunita finds out that she has virtually no respect, is ill-treated, belittled, and slapped around, just because Ramdas was unable to pay the entire dowry sum. Her brother attempts to help, and attempts to secure some money to appease Sunita's mother-in-law, Kanta, but not only is he unsuccessful, but also gets killed in the process. Lily confides in Sunita that Kanta is quite capable of feeding her poison and killing her, as she had done to Prem's first wife.

Storyline

           The local King has surrounded himself with enemies, which include his own trusted men: Bhavani Singh, and Ranjeet, who plot to overthrow him, in vain, as the King's loyal employee, Samadh Khan, and the King's brother-in-law, Arjun Singh, come to his rescue. But events take an unfortunate turn when the King's newborn son is abducted by Jalal Khan, for which Samadh Khan is branded a traitor, is arrested, but escapes dramatically. After abducting the newborn prince, Jalal turns him over to the Sardar of a local gypsy band, and loses consciousness. The queen is distraught over the disappearance of her son, and Arjun offers his son in exchange, which she accepts. But Bhavani finds out about this, and switches his son with that of Arjun Singh. Years later, the Prince, Shamsher Singh, has grown up, and like Bhavani is a tyrant, womanizer and alcoholic.

Qaidi 1984

         Suraj lives in a small rural town in India with his widowed father, Yashpal, and a widowed sister, Sita. Suraj attends college, becomes a graduate and returns home to find that their family home is about to be auctioned at the behest of the cruel and influential Zamindar Bansilal, who refuses to allow them anymore time to re-pay his outstanding loan. The auction takes place, but is not enough to pay the loan, but Suraj assures them that he will do so when he gets a job in Bombay. Shortly thereafter, Yashpal kills himself; Sita is brutally raped and killed, and an enraged Suraj tries to kill Bansilal, Sharma, and Raghu, he does manage to kill Raghu and Sharma, but Bansilal escapes, and notifies the police, who locate, arrest Suraj, and have him sentenced to a long jail term. But Suraj escapes from prison and goes on the hunt for Bansilal.

Storyline

          Suman lives a wealthy lifestyle along with her widower dad, Thakur Ranvir Singh, and an unmarried aunt, Damyanti, in a palatial house in Bombay. They are direct descendants of Raja Hariman Singh of Bijapur. When Ranvir finds out that Suman is in love with a middle-classed male, Sanjay, he expresses displeasure and forbids her to ever see him again. When she persists, he tells her that there is a curse on the entire family - a curse that was inflicted 200 years ago by a blood-thirsty, flesh-eating demon named Samri. This curse impacts only women in their family, who are hideously transformed after giving birth to their firstborn, and die a painful death. Treating this as mere superstitious, Suman and Sanjay, along with Sanjay's friend, Anand and his wife, Sapna, set out to Bijapur to unearth and put an end to this rumor - not knowing that soon they will resurrect a virtually indestructible Samri

        This movie is a revenge drama. Rajesh Khanna is playing a robin hood type of a character. Singing by the day and robbing the rich in the night. This is a often repeated plot which depends on the performance of Super Star. The superstar does not let down but the plot, the presentation, the direction does a bit of let down. The music by Shankar Jaikishan is a let down- sometimes it sounds too loud. The movie gets stretched because of the songs which could have been done away with too make it entertaining. Anyway the fans of Rajesh Khanna will like the movie as it has him in all the angles and the movie largely revolves round him and he has done his part relatively well. This 1984 movie is a must see for Rajesh Khanna fans as he is there in a variety of characters in the movie and tries to pull the movie on the basis of his performance.

Storyline

        Shakti and Shaitan Singh are two brothers who belong to a gang of bandits, headed by the their dad, Bahadur Singh. One day while on a looting rampage in Jamalpur Village, Shakti is wounded and takes shelter with Harkishen and his daughter, Lali. He loses consciousness for several days, while the rest of the bandits think he is dead. When Shakti regains his senses he and Lali fall in love with each other, but Lali wants him to lead a honest life, and it is only then that he can marry her. Shakti decides to go straight to win Lali's hand, he decides to help a near-blind woman, Janki, to till her land. When Shaitan finds out that Shakti is still alive, he goes to welcome him back, but Shakti refuses to return. He refuses to return even when Bahadur comes to get him. Bahadur aims to shoot and kill Shakti, but someone shoots and kills Bahadur.

     Freelance photographer, Alok Prakash, while photographing women hockey players in action, is hit by the puck, loses his senses and his hospitalized. Storyline

         Advocate Gautam Mehra lives in Bombay with his wife, Anju, and a daughter, Rakhsa. One day while returning from court he sees a woman being molested. He stops, phones the police, and then tries to stop the molester, in vain, though as himself gets attacked and loses consciousness. But the police do arrive and arrest the molester. Raghuvir's attempts to convince Gautam to change his testimony are in vain. Gautam goes on to testify against Raghuvir Singh, and gets him sentenced to seven years rigorous prison. Six years later, Raghuvir re-enters the lives of the Mehras, and he is not going to disappear until he has had his vengeance against all three. Efforts to stop him through the police are in vain, as he has not committed any crime yet. The Mehras decide to re-locate to their farm house near a lake without notifying anyone. While they are being re-located Gautam finds out that it is not just Raghuvir who is out for vengeance - there is someone other than him who wants them dead.
