Storyline

            Diwan Bahadur Atal Rai lives a wealthy lifestyle in a mansion 'Gulistan' in Malabar Hills, Bombay, along with his wife, Malti, and two sons, Pavitra and Charitra. Pavitra was adopted while Charitra is his biological son. They are irresponsible, spoiled, Matric-failed, and refuse to do any work. They humiliate their father when he decides to get Charitra married to Shaila, the daughter of Advocate Vardhraj, and he asks them to leave. Shortly thereafter Charitra returns home claiming that he had a altercation with his Pavitra, and knifed him to death. Subsequently Police Inspector Madhusudan Apte, Pgets enough evidence to arrest Charitra. He is let go with a warning after admitting that this was a practical prank. Then Charitra goes on the run after the Mahabuleshwar Police find a dead body and identify it as that of Pavitra.

Storyline

       Prakash lives a wealthy lifestyle in Chandan Nagar along with his sister, Mala, and widowed mom. While traveling by train, Mala meets with an accident and is hospitalized. Also hospitalized are Kailash, Motilal, and a woman who has lost her memory after being molested by Kailash. Prakash and Mala decide to take this woman with them, they call her Jyoti, and after overcoming many objections from their pious Hindu mother, Prakash weds Jyoti, while Moti, who lives with his parsimonious father, Dhanpath Rai, weds Mala. Shortly thereafter Jyoti gives birth to Raju. On Raju's 3rd birthday, Jyoti goes to invite Mala and Dhanpath to his birthday party, but disappears from their lives. Prakash searches high and low, as well as lodges a missing persons' report with the Police - to no avail. Then a year later, while attending a wedding in Poona, Prakash comes across Jyoti, who now calls herself Bela, and is a dancing/singer courtesan.

Light hearted comedy, with "Kise khabar kahan dagar jivan ki ley jaye, kab koi sapna bikhare yahan par, kab koi sach ho jaye...." hummable.

Storyline

               Vijay (Jeetendra) is a Crime Reporter and very often helps the police in apprehending criminals. When his stepmother (Kamini Kaushal) passes away, she asks him to look after his step-brother, Anand (Vijay Arora), which he promises to do so. Thinking that some girl named Saroj (Moushumi Chatterjee) is taking advantage of Anand, he secretly marries her, and abandons her. Vijay's mentor is Rai saheb (Ashok Kumar), who had deserted his wife (Nirupa Roy) and his daughter Saroj, and son, Chandu (Rakesh Roshan). Rai saheb unknowingly hires Saroj as a lady servant for his two daughters, one of whom is Laxmi (Sarika) who is secretly in love with Vijay, and other one, very young, is handicapped and confined to a wheelchair. Vijay and her dad want Laxmi to marry Anand, which she refuses. Chandu has fallen into bad company of a criminal boss (Prem Chopra) and his sidekick Kitty (Komila Virk).

          Unhappy with India's independence from the British, Raja Shamsher Singh and his goons, initially attempt to put their candidate, Shishupal, up for elections. Sangram's wife, Bharati, rebels, becomes a bandit, and sends her son, Shakti, to Bombay so that he can study and return back to Ramgarh to oppose the tyrannical Shamsher, and have Pratap killed. Years later Shakti does return back but Bharati does not know that he has an hidden agenda - which does not include seeking vengeance from Pratap or Shamsher.

On the way to the prison, there is an accident and all travelers are killed. His wife and Sanju re-locate, but Sanju is abducted by Chinaramu, & trained to be a criminal at a young age. Years later, Sanju has grown up, is now known as Shankar, has no knowledge of his parents' whereabouts, and is a career criminal. He comes to the rescue of a village belle named Champa and both fall in love. They find out that Champa's brother, Birju, is in jail, arrested for murder. Both know that Birju is not guilty, and swear to find out who the killer is. Before they could anything, Shankar himself is arrested and held in a cell - and the charge is cold-blooded murder of a pregnant woman named Seema.

Storyline

           Chanderprakash A. Malik lives a middle-classed lifestyle in Bombay, along with his wife, Kamla; a son, Munna; and a brother, Surajprakash, who is studying medicine. He works in the accounting department as well as does tutoring, and hopes that Suraj will complete his education, then go overseas to upgrade. He also hopes to get him married to widower Dindayal Choudhury's only daughter, Kiran. The young couple are introduced and quite dramatically fall in love with each other. Everything appears to go according to plan until Chander is accused of stealing Rs.10,000/- and is fired. He conceals this information and seeks employment elsewhere - albeit in vain. He then attempts to take a loan from Dindayal, who has been told about the theft, ends up being humiliated and the wedding gets canceled. Then he informs everyone that he is going away on a business trip, and a few days later the Police notify them of his accidental death.

Storyline

       Amma lives in Bijapur with her husband and son, Benwa. When a man attempts to sexually molest her, he is killed by her husband, the trio flee, but the husband is shot dead by the police. Amma re-locates to a shanty slum near Dharavi, Bombay, where Benwa grows up and shines shoes for a living. Amma is sexually active with Looka, a hoodlum and extortionist who shows up once in while, and also has a steady relationship with trucker, Anna. Both Looka and Anna are unaware of each other. Looka gets Benwa married to Amli from a nearby slum & Anna gets Amma a much better shelter. All seems to be going well until the Police come looking for an injured Looka, when he robs a pharmacy in order to get medicines for himself. Watch what happens when the Police arrive and find a visibly pregnant Amma with Looka, and the impact this will have on her relationship with Anna.

Storyline

          Daydreamer Rajaram lives a poor lifestyle in a village in India along with his aunt and an unmarried sister, Malti, who has mortgaged their shanty house with Sukhi Lala so that she can educate Rajaram in Bombay. Rajaram pretends to be wealthy in order to get married to his sweetheart, Nisha Sharma, much to the chagrin of her dad who wants her to get married to a boxer, Ranjeet Gupta. After Rajaram gets a degree in Arts he returns home and finds out about the debt, he attempts to find work, ends up working as a laborer with Sukhi, but is beaten-up when he is found slacking. Rajaram returns to Bombay, meets with Suleiman, and takes up collecting waste material (Dabha Batli) from households for a fee. One day he comes across a bottle, which falls down and out pops a 20000 year old Genie with magical powers. Rajaram does not want anything to do with this Genie, who insists on helping him for one year regardless.

Storyline

     Widowed Dayashankar is a businessman who lives in Madras with his two school-going sons, Raj and Ashok. Ashok goes on to take over his dad's business, Superior Motors, which also has a branch in Bombay; gets married to Laxmi, and soon has son named Munna. One day Ashok must travel to Bombay to meet with Bulbul, the Branch Manager, to discuss business. Laxmi and Munna see him off. Then several days later, Ashok returns home and he is not the same loving husband and father anymore. He decides to sell the business, has nothing to do with Munna and Laxmi, and asks them to take some money, while he returns to Bombay. Laxmi and Munna follow him to Bombay, but are unable to locate him.

Before they could arrest Deep, Maheshwari is killed in his home, and the Police are notified that Deep is the killer
