Storyline

Gayetri has been married to Rajendra Thakur for many years, and has given birth to a son, Rocky. One day Rajendra's friend, Chamanlal Chaurasia, informs him of his father's ailing health and possible demise, so Rajendra leaves, and does not return. When Gayetri finds his whereabouts, he refuses to recognize her, nor admit that he is Rocky's father. She brings Rocky, as well as daughter, Priyanka, on her own, and he gets recruited as a Police Inspector. He gets assigned to track down and arrest a gangster, Raja Thakur, and concludes that Rajendra and Raja are not only one and the same but he is also his biological father. Before Raja could be arrested, Gayetri, Priyanka, and Rocky's sweetheart, Diya, get abducted and plans are made to publicly execute them at a unique location.

Storyline

Shyama is an orphaned young woman who lives with her aunt, uncle and several cousins, two of who are girls of marriageable age. Her passion is dancing, which is frowned upon by her uncle and aunt. One day she, along with a young man named Gopal, go to see the dance by an international artiste named Veena. They ask Veena and her mentor, Dinanath, for help but are shunned and asked to leave. Crestfallen, she returns home and sleeps outside the door as it was very late. The next day her aunt finds out about her overnight excursion and beats her up severely, followed by another beating by her uncle. Humiliated, she decides to run away with Gopal to another town in order to learn dancing at the hands of well-known Guru Kishinchand Sharma. They do find Kishin, who initially rejects them, but relents when he witnesses Shyama abilities.

Storyline

Niravan (Nazir Hussain), the village postmaster receives an envelope with a cheque for a very large amount, with the instructions that he is to turn this cheque over to the most honest man in the village. Honest Niravan calls a village meeting and informs them of this outcome. They mutually agree that there are five people in the village who can be called honest, however, since the stipulation states that the amount is to be turned to only one, they decide to hold elections in the village, so that everyone can decide who the most honest man is. The outcome is hilarious as all the five prominent people bend over backwards not only to be honest and caring, but also be seen to be honest and caring. The village doctor starts treating all patients regardless of their ability to pay him; the village money-lender starts forgiving loans; the wealthy zamindar allows everyone to drink water from his property; the village priest allows the untouchables to worship in the temple.
