Storyline

City bred Ramu is involved in petty crime. When his close friend Gopal dada asks him to go to the village and look after his mother, and sister, Chanda, Ramu does so. After coming to know both mother and daughter, they decide to re-locate to the big city to be together with Gopal. In the process, Ramu and Chanda fall in love with each other. Chanda wants Ramu to give up his life of crime, Ramu agrees to do so, but will his crime partners allow Ramu to lead a normal life?

Barsaat 1949

Storyline

Pran and Gopal are traveling in a convertible in the Indian countryside but the car breaks down. Near Satpur they come across a village and rest there for a few days. While there Gopal meets with Neela, while Pran meets with Reshma, and the couples fall in love with each other. Gopal, who fancies himself a Casanova of sorts, has no qualms whatsoever of leaving Neela and going out with other women, while Pran is unable to get Reshma out of his mind. The two leave, promising to return during the monsoon season. While in the city, Pran is unable to make up his mind about returning to Reshma, and Gopal prefers the company of two dancing girls, Lily and Ruby, not knowing that Reshma is shortly to be married to Bholu, while Neela, on the verge of killing herself, is anxiously awaiting Gopal's return. Watch what happens when Bholu takes Reshma to the city.

Storyline

Roopa lives in a chawl in a slum with her alcoholic paternal uncle, who sits at home and forces her to go out to work, earn and buy alcohol for him. Her outlook on life is close to despair, and when she finds no work, earns no money, she is severely beaten by him and thrown out of the room. On one such occasion, a neighbor named Raj comes to her aid and even loans her some money. But that only lasts for a short while, and she is back to square one again. She decides to kill herself, but is rescued by an artiste named Ashok, who asks her to model for him. Soon they become fast friends, she even moves into his palatial home, and both earn quite a bit of money from selling the paintings. Then one day Raj re-enters her life, and it was as though her past had come to re-visit. She longed to be with Raj. Ashok is unhappy because of the competition, as he is in love with Roopa and would like to marry her.

Storyline

Mahender has been responsible for the upbringing of Tomato, a young child at a very early age. Now Mahender's health is getting worse, and he is afraid his ill-health may be contagious and may endanger Tomato. So Mahender decides to leave Tomato in the park near Kamal Roy, and instructs Tomato to call Kamal his dad. Tomato does so, and this results in utter chaos in the life of Kamal. He is unable to convince his lady love Usha Sen that the child is not his; and additionally Kamal is under pressure from his dad and mom to get married. Kamal begs Tomato to leave him, but Tomato refuses to do so. How will this impact on Kamal's life and relationships?

When Shekhar finds out that Lata does not want to marry him, he is enraged and starts to investigate Vasant's background. He finds out that Vasant's real name is Ashok, who is a writer for a magazine 'Bahar, has a relationship with a woman, and also has a son. Storyline

Storyline

Madan comes from a poor family background. Unable to find employment, he takes to gambling in a big way. He makes a lot of money, and decides to open a gambling den, where he makes even more money. He meets with sophisticated and cultured Dr. Rajani, and both are attracted to each other. But Rajani's dad does not approve of Madan nor of his background, and would prefer that Rajani marry Inspector Ramesh. Rejected, Madan meets with vivacious and outgoing Meena, and romances her. Then Inspector Ramesh arrests Madan and imprisons him for the murder of Meena, who was killed with a revolver with Madan's fingerprints on it.
