Storyline

     Dr. Devendra is an eligible young man, employed with the local prison for women. He meets with an attractive female inmate named Kalyani, and both become friends. Devendra finds Kalyani very attractive, and would like to marry her, and refuses to know or judge her from her past. What Devendra does not know is Kalyani is a killer, who has confessed to killing the wife of a freedom-fighter, Bikas Ghosh.

Storyline

           Chaudhary Shambhunath (Balraj Sahni) considers the accumulation of wealth to be more important than education. He condones his sister's inattention at school and consequently she grows up "anpadh" (illiterate). When she finds herself married to a bibliophile her problems really begin. Unable to read the poetry her husband loves and being a rotten cook too, she becomes despised by her husband and her in-laws. Circumstances conspire to leave her homeless, husbandless and pregnant. Narrowly escaping from the attentions of a panderer she falls amongst friends and, with the birth of her daughter, she starts on the long road to redemption. An entertaining plea for education in general and for the education of girls in particular.

Storyline

Storyline

           The film resolves around two childhood friends Vikram Singh and Ajay Singh. Ajay singh grows up and becomes a Doctor (A messiah for the pheasants) while Vikram Singh takes over his ancestors inheritance, and fits into the mighty shoes of a Typical Thakur. Conflict begins between their friendship when Vikram Singh's henchman Shamsher Singh abducts a pheasant girl. Dr Ajay gets Shamsher Singh arrested and thus the bitterness starts. This causes rivalry between the two, and the rest of the drama is on how the two battle out their differences and in the end once again re-unite to fight the villains.

Storyline

      During the British rule in India, several Indians were lured by the British to travel to distant Mauritius where they would have a better life. Upon reaching this island, the Indians were enslaved, tortured and made to labor in what is now known as the "Coolie Ghat". After the British left India, the Indians in Mauritius decided to continue to live there along with other nationals from different countries. Amongst the Indian family was the Sinha family, consisting of Shekhar, his wife Sandhya and son, Jai. Jai attends culinary classes where he meets with beautiful Swede, Sophie Besson, and after a few misunderstandings both fall in love with each other. Sophie introduces Jai to her parents, Norman and Claire. Norman who used to one of the slave-masters in the olden days, considers Indians quite inferior, does not approve of Jai, and would like Sophie to marry Gordon.

Storyline

     After the mysterious disappearance of her maid, butler, and gardener, Mrs. Sandra Williams, the wife of Major Frank, who lives in a palatial house with two children, Sara and David, writes a letter to the local employment agency to get replacements. Martha Pinto, in the company of Edgar and Maria, a dumb woman, apply for these vacancies. Sandra hires them, explains that her children's eyes may be damaged by sunlight, the curtains are to be drawn at all times, as she gets migraines by any loud noise everyone must remain quiet, there is no electricity and all work must be done during the daytime, and the entire house is candle-lit. The staff get busy with their work, and it is then Sarah tells her mom that she has noticed other people in the house that are visible to her only, and she draws the picture of a male, a female (his wife), their son, Vicky, and an elder woman with magical powers.
