Storyline

    Disciplinarian Shanti Swaroop (Ashok Kumar) alienates himself from his wife Urmilla (Indrani Mukherjee); son, Ravi (Sunil Dutt), and daughter, Roopa (Yogeeta Bali). His wife passes away, and he marries another woman, Maya (also Indrani Mukherjee), who looks like his wife. Maya has an on-going affair with Heeralal "Heera" (Ramesh Deo) unknown to Shanti Swaroop. A fall from a staircase makes Shanti Swaroop lose his eyesight, and makes him totally dependent on his wife, and a nurse, Kalpana (Rekha). Blinded and unable to see reason clearly, he refuses to let his daughter marry Ram (Sharad) as he is poor; and asks Ravi to leave his house, when Ravi speaks out against Heera and Maya, thus leaving the ground wide open for them to attempt to initially permanently blind him, and then blame the nurse for this negligence.

Storyline

       Ram Kapoor comes from a poor family, while Kiran comes from a middle-class family. Ram and his brother, Shyam, commit petty thievery to sustain themselves. Ram meets Kiran and both fall in love and would like to get married. Kiran's dad is Police Inspector, Vijay Kumar, and does not approve of either Ram nor this marriage. Despite of this opposition, Kiran and Ram get married. After sometime, Kiran gets pregnant, and her mother, Madhu, comes to look after her. A gangster, Shakti, abducts both mother and daughter, and holds them for ransom. Vijay thinks that Ram and Shyam are behind this abduction so to get money from him, and launches a manhunt for them. Shyam is apprehended, while Ram is on the run. Ram must decide to hand himself over to the police, and let his wife and her mother be at the mercy of Shakti or continue to evade the police and search for Kiran and Madhu.

Storyline

   After the death of her businessman husband, Mrs. Sinha lives a wealthy lifestyle in Delhi, with her son, Vinod, who has taken over the business; and her daughter, Kajal, while she herself indulges herself with some friends to play cards - quite obsessively. Storyline

        Anuradha is an orphan who has found a mentor in kind-hearted Mahesh Kumar Gupta. She decides to re-locate to the city and be close to him in Bombay. After a few misadventures, and being rescued by a gallant Kishore, she settles down with Gupta, who would like her to marry his son, Raj Kumar. Anuradha has fallen in love with Kishore, but does not want to upset Gupta, and so she accordingly agrees to this marriage. Then Raj brings home a beautiful young woman named Usha, who he has fallen in love with and got married to. After a few temper tantrums, Gupta does accept Usha as his daughter-in-law. What Gupta does not know is that Usha has married Raj to inherit his vast wealth and estate and be close to her lover, Prem Kishen, who also has an on-going affair with Anuradha. Things get really complicated when Prem is killed, and Anuradha is arrested by the police for killing him.

Storyline

     Sapna lives a very poor lifestyle in a town called Ramgarh in India. She has no family of her own, but lives with an older woman who she calls Mausi, and two grandchildren. Sapna is a petty thief and a pick-pocket, & is very well known to the local Police. When Police Inspector Kumar takes charge of Ramgarh Police Station, he has Sapna arrested on several counts of theft and holds her in a cell, but eventually lets her go after warning her. Then Sapna sneaks into a dance troupe, Deepak Theatre, and performs a song and dance number which is very much appreciated by the owner, Deepak, who asks her to accompany him to Bombay, which she does. Very soon she becomes a popular star, calls herself Sangeeta, and her photographs are splashed all over the media. She decides to return to Ramgarh to do one show before touring Europe. Watch what happens when Sapna returns home and the impact this visit has on the people of Ramgarh as well as the local Police.

Storyline

     Wealthy Santosh falls in love with poor Shanti, who lives with her alcoholic Compounder dad, much to the chagrin of his mother, Brijbala, who wants a wealthy daughter-in-law. The marriage does take place, and Shanti endures considerable abuse, which ends after her mother-in-law makes a secret deal with Kundanlal, and she becomes pregnant.. Abuse resumes, after her dad fails to live-up to his deal, as well as Santosh finds out that the child is not his. Shortly thereafter, Kundanlal will be told that his daughter has been run-over by a truck and killed instantly. Several months later, Santosh's pretty sister, Raksha, will be shocked to find out that Shanti is still alive, pregnant, calls herself Sharda, and lives with a truck-driver goon named Mangudada.

Storyline

When Meeta Sharma (Waheeda Rehman) comes to the hospital to admit her son, she meets Sunil and their romance is rekindled. Storyline

        Mocking at religion, flirting with women, in debt with a number of shop-keepers, Raju lives an impoverished lifestyle, and is in love with Lachhi, whose blind Nani does not approve of him. When he finds out that Nani's landlord, Kalwa, is threatening to evict them unless she comes up with Rs.5000/-, he first attempts to borrow money. Failing in this, he steals it from Rana and goes on the run from the police. He boards a train without a ticket and enters a compartment which has a single occupant, Swami Satyanand, who looks exactly like him. The train has an accident, he takes advantage of this situation, dons the Swami's guise, and subsequently manages to pull wool over the latter's devotees - with an agenda of collecting as much cash as possible. He is not aware that Swami has survived the accident, and is being held against his will by Lachhi - and it will not be too long before Raju's past will catch up with him - and he will have to answer for his crimes.

Storyline

   Jeevanlal lives in a small village in India with his wife, Sita, a son, Dharmchand and daughter, Meena, and makes a living by stealing. One day he steals from the Tehsildar's home, returns to his home and hides the stolen property with his son. When the police arrive, Dharma hands over the stolen articles to them, they arrest Jeevanlal, he is found guilty, and sent to prison. Years later, Dharma has grown up but his dad hates him. Then one day both father and son get into a fight over selling the cow, Jeevanlal strikes his son, and Dharma takes a stick to defend himself. Sita intervenes, scolds Dharma for daring to attack his father, and asks him to leave. Dharma leaves home, goes to Bombay, finds work with a building contractor, earns money and sends his savings to his mother. Then one day Sita receives a letter from Dharma that he is returning home. She goes to the bus-stand to greet him, but is told that he is already gone home.
