Amar lives a poor lifestyle along with his widowed mom in a village, and has a sweetheart in Savitri. He is a trouble-maker and makes life difficult for the Panchayat Chair, Kalicharan, who also happens to be Savitri's father, so much so that Kalicharan hires Ram Shastri to kill Amar. After his passing, Amar enters Swarg Lok where he gets to meet with Devraj Indra and then Yamraj. Amar incites Yam Dhooths to go on a strike, as well as has Yamraj himself consider going on a vacation along with his assistant, Chitragupt Sharma. As a result, Yamraj and Chitragupt end up in modern day Bombay as ordinary human beings, and people stop dying, while Amar himself is given back his life. But not for long for soon he will be called upon to provide bail for a jailed Yamraj and Chitragupt, who will soon return to Swarg Lok and take him along too!

Samson 1964

Dara Singh plays the mythological Samson character to the hilt as he must contend with a love starved princess and her all female warriors, a sorcerer and his magical dwarfs, a dinosaur sized lizard, and a rebel in love with a hand-maiden.
The producers do a fine job of getting the "look" of the Italian sword and sandal films, including appropriate music, and if the film were dubbed into English and the decidedly Hindi song and dance numbers were removed you would never know this was an Indian made film (well, unless you looked at the film's credits).

Haria lives with his widowed and elderly grandmother at a tea estate. He has no knowledge of his biological father, as his mother died at the time of his birth. He now works as a Mahout (Elephant driver) at the tea estate, with elephant-friend, Raja. He meets and falls in love with a gypsy girl, Gulabi, and both want to get married. But Gulabi has another suitor, none other than Ajay, the only son of the tea estate owner. When Ajay finds out that Gulabi loves Haria, he plans to get rid of Haria, but fails. He waits for the right moment, and has his men abduct Gulabi. But before he could have his way with her, she is rescued by Raja, but Ajay subsequently shoots Raja to death. An enraged Haria wants to kill Ajay in return, but Ajay's dad stops him from doing so. Then Ajay's dad finds out a secret about his past life, and decides to change his last will and testament.

Moti comes from a poor family, and lives in a modest apartment with his widowed mother, and an unmarried sister, Shyama. He meets with a beautiful young woman named Ganga, and soon both fall in love with each other. He brings Ganga home to meet his mother and sister, and they welcome her to their dwelling. After a few days, a group of armed men forcibly enter Moti's house, and attempt to abduct Ganga. When Moti's mom intervenes, and asks the men to leave them alone, the men tell her that Ganga is a runaway prostitute, and they want her back. Moti's mom at horrified at having a woman with such a reputation live in her house, and lets the men take her away. When Moti returns, he is angered at not finding Ganga there, and sets out to try and find her. But will he able to rescue her before Ganga is forced into prostitution, or before she takes her own life rather than be forced to live in this manner.

Our story has three married couples: One couple, who are happily married, are Tripathi (Sanjeev Kumar) and his wife Mary; the second couple are Geeta (Shabana Azmi) and Vinod (Vinod Mehra), who live in Vinod's mom's house. Their's is an unhappy marriage with Vinod spending a lot of time with Leena (Prema Narayan), and frequenting late and all-night parties. His wife patiently awaits his return every night; And the third couple is that of Shobha (Moushumi Chatterjee) and Vicky Kapoor (Jeetendra), their's is a seemingly "happy" marriage, with Shobha being a very jealous and possessive woman. One day when she sees her husband and Radha (Tanuja) together, she thinks they are having an affair, and starts to ask questions. Suddenly their lives are turned upside down, when Vinod decides to leave the house; Shobha leaves her husband; and Tripathi tries to make amends but looks like these two couples are unable to compromise and adjust to married life.

Yusuf is the son of a prominent and respected doctor in this community, and is himself studying medicine to become a doctor. One day he meets with beautiful Najma and both fall in love, and meet secretly. When his father announces that it is time for him to get married, Yusuf is delighted and would like to introduce Najma to his dad. But before he could even mention Najma, his father informs him that his marriage has been arranged with Raziya, an illiterate village belle. Yusuf refuses to marry Raziya, but his father convinces him to change his mind, and as a result the marriage takes place. But Yusuf is unable to get Najma out of his mind, and will have nothing to do with Raziya. Najma, on the other hand, realizes that fate has not intended them to marry, and has already consented to an arranged marriage by her family.

Badshah Babar arrives in India from Iran, drives out Ibrahim Lodhi, makes peace with the Hindus and rules Delhi. He also adopts Rajkumari as his daughter and treats like his very own child, even though he has two sons, Humayun and Kamran, and a daughter, Gulbadan. Babar also finds out that Rajkumari is soon to be married to Randhir, the Rajkumar of Chanderi, who is out to avenge the conquest of his native land, by killing Humayun. Before that could happen Humayun falls seriously ill, Babar prays for his survival, but himself becomes ill and passes away, leaving Humayun to recuperate and be crowned the next Badshah. Humayun meets Hamida Bano and both fall in love with each other so much so that he loses all interest in the running of the state. When Delhi is attacked by Jai Singh, Kamran and Khan Bahadur join in the attack, forcing Hamida to flee. Humayun fends off the attackers, but must re-route his armies when Rajkumari is taken hostage.

The films takes an expressionist look at the gulf between the rich and poor in the society. The film centers on a wealthy and capacious landlord, Sarkar (Rafi Peer) who lives in a palatial estate high up on a mountain while the poor toil and starve in the valley below. The villagers of 'Neecha Nagar' harbor hate for Sarkar and their hatred is fueled even more by the fact that Sarkar plans to direct all the sewage into the village in order to make way for his housing project. The villagers protest this move with their head, Balraj (Rafiq Anwar) leading a movement against Sarkar's plan. Sarkar's daughter Maya (Uma Anand) joins the movement against her father and falls in love with Balraj. With the sewage flowing through the village, epidemic starts to spread and the lives of the villagers comes under threat. Can poor people of 'Neecha Nagar' survive the greed and wickedness of the rich? Can Sarkar and his malicious ways be put to an end?

Things only get worse after Prakash is killed and his sister decides to re-locate by train. While traveling she finds her co-passenger is none other than Laatsaheb - who confesses that he loves her. Before she could respond, the train meets with an accident, he survives with minor injuries but she loses her memory, is hospitalized and presumed to have lost her mind also. She manages to escape and ends up with Imperial College's Professor Nath - who gets smitten by her beauty, calls her Kamini, assures her that she has always lived with him, and decides not to treat her medically - so that she can be his forever.

Later, Hari Shankar sees a woman singing and swinging in the garden swing, when he approaches, she disappears. Both the housekeeper and his lawyer friend, Shrinath, warn Hari Shankar, and ask him to stay away from this house, he does so, only to be drawn back. No one can help Hari Shankar now as he continues to be drawn deeper and deeper into the dark world of the ghostly apparition. "Ayega.. ayega... aanewala, aayega...." is still popular on radio and tapes/cd.

The lovers are separated and the doctor, due to a misleading event, believes his sweetheart to be dead and resigns himself to a dejected life and a loveless marriage. The girl, meanwhile, loses her father in a fire, and sets out in search of her separated lover.

Young Shamu lives with his widowed mom, and works in the orchard of Daulatram Rai. He is very friendly with Mala, Daulatram's only child, and they often go horse-riding. While riding one day, Mala and Shamu get thrown down, and Mala is injured. Her enraged & snobbish dad fires Shamu and forbids Mala to ever see him again. He and his mom leave to re-locate elsewhere. On the way, his mom passes away, leaving a grieving Shamu in the care of young Champa and her uncle. A depressed Shamu runs away, straight into a sand-storm, and loses his vision. Blind and dependent, Shamu is looked after by Champa and her uncle. Years later, the uncle has passed away, but Shamu still lives with Champa and makes a living by singing. Champa adores him, but Shamu is unable to get Mala out of his mind. Dr. Kishore hears him sing, is pleased, and offers to restore his vision free of cost. When Shamu regains his sight, his only thought is to find Mala and re-kindle their love.
